Upcoming Internal Medicine CME Conferences

Our commitment to education runs just as deeply for practicing providers as it does for our medical students. This is why so many of our faculty regularly participate in Continuing Medical Education conferences. Later this month, the 4th Annual Advances in Cardiovascular Diagnosis & Therapy will take place at the Clarion Highlander Hotel in Iowa City on Friday, February 24. This day-long conference will present the latest techniques, technologies, devices, and therapies for the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of cardiac-related conditions. Primary care providers, nurses, advanced practice providers, physician assistants, and other health care providers are all welcome and will find information of use in their daily practice.

Then, on Friday, March 24, the Advances in Diabetes & Obesity Management conference will be held in the Medical Alumni Auditorium, E331 General Hospital, on the University of Iowa campus. This day-long conference was revived last year and aims to improve knowledge and competence of issues surrounding medications, nutrition, and physical activity related to obesity and diabetes. Regional health care providers of all stripes are just as welcome and just as likely to walk away better prepared to address patient concerns in this increasingly common area.

We hope you will plan to attend and invite those providers who would benefit from this opportunity. Information on registering for either of these conferences is available at the University of Iowa CME site.
