Perencevich Named ESCMID Fellow

Dr. Eli Perencevich was recently honored by the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) with the title of ESCMID Fellow. Dr. Perencevich is one of an inaugural class of fellows recognized by ESCMID with this title for outstanding achievements in his profession and for his exemplary service to the organization. More than 200 infectious disease specialists, microbiologists, and other field-related scientists from around the world were inducted into this class, but only 5 of them—including Dr. Perencevich—are from the United States.

The ESCMID has around 33,000 members worldwide and is Europe’s leading society in clinical microbiology and infectious disease. Induction into the class of ESCMID Fellows was announced at the organization’s 27th General Assembly in Vienna last month, which more than 12,000 members attended.

Congratulations to Dr. Perencevich on this august international status!
