New Fellows Welcome, 2019

Just as they did when they said good-bye to their graduates, the fellowships in Allergy/Immunology, Endocrinology, and Rheumatology combined forces to welcome their new fellows. Earlier this month, faculty and staff convened in the Immunology conference room to enjoy some cupcakes and an ice cream bar while taking the opportunity to get to know one another.

Immunology Division Director Scott Vogelgesang, MD, spoke briefly and asked each of the new fellows to introduce themselves. They were also asked to identify a career option if not for medicine. Historian and musician were among the surprising answers as each fellows spoke in turn.

After a few group photos in the hall, the snacks were loaded onto a cart and wheeled down by the Allergy/Immunology and Rheumatology fellows and faculty toward the pediatric allergy unit, with whom many of the fellows will be working. As they dished up ice cream and ran through the cupcake flavors, nursing staff in the unit got a chance to put faces to names. After Pediatrics, the caravan made its way to the Medical Specialties Clinic, stopping into the work room to visit with Allergy/Immunology providers as well as the Rheumatology wing.
