Farewell from Our 2016-17 Chief Residents

Our chief residency year has flown by, and while we are excited to move on to our future endeavors, we have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity that being a chief resident has provided. We have enhanced our abilities to teach residents and medical students. We have learned to be leaders and the challenges with leading. Though we have pursued several projects throughout the year, our best project was the new resident lounge that opened in April. Of course, this would not have been possible without the help of Dr. Suneja. We are grateful for the knowledge he has imparted to us, and the many cups of coffee. We are all thankful for the opportunity to serve as chief residents.

Jared Routh has taken a hospitalist position at Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, and Andrew Johannes will be a fellow in gastroenterology at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics. Bryan McConomy and Carly Kuehn have taken positions in the Department of General Internal Medicine as hospitalists here at the University of Iowa.
