I’m delighted to announce that Dr. Wendy Fiordellisi has accepted my offer to become permanent Director of the General Internal Medicine Clinic at Iowa River Landing. Since agreeing to serve as Interim Director in March 2018, she has proven herself to be a highly capable leader. Wendy’s unwavering dedication to our missions of patient care, teaching, and scholarship has been a key to her success. She has fostered the growth of team-based care, been able to engage faculty in efforts to improve our work environment, supported quality improvement initiatives, and led successful recruiting efforts—while also ably representing us at the institutional level. I’m very optimistic about the future of the academic general internal medicine clinic under Wendy’s leadership. Please join me in congratulating—and thanking—Wendy as she takes this important next step in her career.
