Farewell from our 2017-18 Chief Residents

We are very grateful for the opportunity we have had this year to give back to this wonderful residency program. Throughout the year, we have each grown as physicians, teachers, and leaders. There have been a number of challenges, but at the end of the day, the experience was rewarding in many ways, and we hope that we have left the program a little better than it was when we arrived. We are very thankful for the constant support and mentorship from Dr. Suneja, Dr. Harris, Dr. Smock, Dr. Beck, Dr. Johnson, and Dr. Gehlbach, as well as all the candy and laughs from Cindy, Rubi, Denise, Dana, and Jane. We look forward to seeing what the future brings for the University of Iowa Internal Medicine Residency.

Amanda Grippen Goddard will begin her fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at National Jewish Hospital in Denver, Colorado. Aaron Vose will begin his fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care at Duke University in North Carolina. Sheena CarlLee and Josiah Zubairu will remain at UIHC as a hospitalist and a fellow in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, respectively.
