Excerpt:
Prominent colonic mucosal folds are referred to as myochosis. Myochosis results from shortening of taeniae from elastosis, squashing together of the sigmoid like an accordion, creating deep recesses between prominent folds.[1] These changes are often under-reported in endoscopy notes. Here, we report development of an endoscopic classification system for diagnosis, grading and reporting of myochosis. We also evaluated the obstructive nature of myochosis.
