2019 Newly Promoted Associate Professors

Out of a consideration for time, Lois Geist, MD, associate dean for Faculty Affairs and Development, said that she would keep her descriptions of member successes brief. But, she made clear, that brevity in no way should diminish the hard work and tremendous achievements of those being honored that afternoon.

Unlike the celebration of the newly promoted professors late last month, this event honoring this year’s newly promoted associate professors was brisker and attended by department chairs or their representatives and the honorees themselves. With 46 such designees, that reduced invitation list was born of some necessity.

Following a brief array of hors d’oeuvres, the presentation of a small gift and a flower to each honoree began, with Geist working steadily through 14 departments in the Carver College of Medicine. Then, with the late afternoon sun streaming through the windows of the atrium, this group of nearly four dozen posed for one more group photo and then got back to work.

Congratulations to the new Associate Professors of Internal Medicine!
